During his return segment, Y2J announced that he will be one of the thirty entrants into the “Royal Rumble” match. At the time, the winner was believed to be the No. 1 Contender for the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania, but then Vince McMahon made the match for Roman Reigns’ title.
As of this writing, Jericho is also advertised for WWE Fastlane in Cleveland. If Jericho is remaining with WWE through at least February, there is a good chance that he will be involved with Wrestlemania in one way or another.
On the latest episode of Talk is Jericho”, Y2J explained the plan for his return to WWE. The idea of The New Day clock turning into his countdown clock went according to plan, but his return had been leaked hours before by the dirtsheets.
His return to Raw this week was meant to be a great surprise. Chris was hiding in a bus earlier in the day and wasn’t seen by anyone. The dirtsheets caught wind of his appearance when WWE posted a run sheet or script for that night’s Raw and had Jericho’s return listed on the sheet, which ruined the surprise.
