The last year of Tyson Kidd’s life has been a constant struggle since he suffered a tragic accident that caused a significant and severe spinal injury that has officially cost him at least one year of his career as of today.
It was on this day a year ago that Kidd took a Muscle Buster from Samoa Joe and suffered an injury that would have killed over ninety percent of people, but only his peak physical condition saved his life.
The fact that he is alive today is astounding. If he can ever return to the ring, that would be a miracle. We haven’t heard a solid update on his condition since earlier this year.
Back in February, his wife Natalya gave the following update on Tyson Kidd’s injury during an interview with Reveal Magazine:
“His recovery is a long, long process. We’re just so grateful we’ve had great doctors to work with and TJ is so strong mentally. He’s been wrestling for twenty years and it is his second injury. To be wrestling for as long as we have and to have so few injuries, it’s pretty shocking for him. He’s taking it really well, and every single day I think he gets physically stronger.”
It’s tough to judge where he would be in today’s programming had the injury not occurred. It’s possible the team of Cesaro and Kidd could still be thriving or he could be challenging for the United States of Intercontinental Championships in the midcard.
The real issue here is if he’ll be able to return to the ring at all. Tyson Kidd posted the following on Twitter to remember the injury from a year ago:

Do you think Tyson Kidd should call it a career?
