Lana & Rusev Wedding Date Set For September 2nd, Could WWE Run A Wedding Angle?

The current United States Champion Rusev and The Ravishing Russian Lana announced their engagement to one another despite kayfabe last October.

It’s taken a while for their poor “break-up” angle with Dolph Ziggler and Summer Rae to wash off them, and they received some backstage heat for destroying the angle, but it seems all of those issues have washed away.

According to DailyWrestlingNews.com, their real-life wedding date has been set for September 2nd. Since Lana will be joining the cast “Total Divas” next season, the wedding will be filmed for the show.

However, it hasn’t been revealed if WWE will be running any kind of wedding angle for them on WWE television before or after their real-life nuptials.

WWE has a few months to make that decision, but it seems like a waste of a good angle not to do something for the wedding between Rusev and Lana, especially considering the permanent tie those two characters have to one another.

Right now, Lana is currently training at the WWE Performance Center and getting her feet wet during NXT live events while Rusev has regained the US title that he lost all the way back at Wrestlemania 31.

The future is bright for them, and there are a lot of options for them on WWE programming to continue to evolve together and become one of the best couples in WWE history.
