According to several sources, including PWInsider.com, negotiations between Styles and TNA were consistent throughout the end of 2015. It’s being said that TNA looks at AJ Styles the same way WCW looked at Sting, or WWE looks at John Cena.
TNA wanted him back for their debut on POP TV. After Styles’ experience in NJPW, the idea to being in Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson debuting in TNA came up.
Gallows and Anderson were looking to leave New Japan Pro Wrestling, and at the time, Gallows was not under contract, and Anderson’s deal with NJPW expires on February 1st.
The short version of the story is all three superstars had agreed to terms and the company was already having their legal team work on the contracts to sign. Soon, Styles’ agent had learned about it and wasn’t please to know that a deal was being done with his involvement.
After Christmas and the preceding holidays, all communication stopped from Styles, Anderson, and Gallows, which was very confusing to TNA as they thought a deal was done.
All sources close to TNA are adamant that all three guys signed deals with the company despite lawyers and agents not being involved. The very latest claims that TNA is very frustrated with the wrestlers backing out of their deals.
The reasoning behind the statement is to TNA felt they were “wronged” and they made the statement because they didn’t want to look weak and didn’t want their fans thinking the company simply let all that talent go to WWE without doing everything they could.
As of this writing, no decision has been made about TNA’s pursuit to pursue legal action against AJ Styles, Karl Anderson, and Doc Gallows. However, it’s being said that TNA is going to do so very soon, and the company is just timing the statement to put AJ Styles upcoming debut in WWE
However, it’s being said that TNA is going to do so very soon, and the company is just timing the statement to put AJ Styles upcoming debut in WWE this week in jeopardy.
At the very least, TNA would like to do what they can to dampen the impact of seeing their “Sting” or “John Cena” work for WWE.
