Back in May, Ryback entered into a very public contract dispute with WWE, which led the company to sent him home for the last three months of his current deal.
It wasn’t until three weeks ago that Ryback’s contract with WWE officially expired. His contract dispute with the company obviously couldn’t be solved, but the details were never really revealed until earlier today.
Ryback has now entered the independent circuit of the industry under the simple moniker of “The Big Guy.” He has made several other changes including starting his own podcast called, “Conversation with The Big Guy.”
During the first episode of his podcast, he went in depth about his WWE career and the contract dispute that led to his departure from the company. You can listen to the full podcast episode right here.
He also revealed that his departure from WWE was “Not about a money issue, just so everybody knows, I walked away from the WWE, the contract offer that I walked away from was a three-year $1.5 million contract.”
Apparently, he was unhappy with the taxes and the travel expenses, so he felt undervalued and said that he and Triple H had many heated discussion about it. Ultimately, he said he was grateful to WWE for the chance.
