It’s no secret that WWE has been trying to get Ronda Rousey on WWE programming for a long time now. They had a brief success doing so at Wrestlemania 31, but they want to see her in a match at a live WWE event.
Since Rousey lost her first fight and title to Holly Holm last year, she’s been more or less out of the public eye. It isn’t clear if WWE’s interest has gone down now that she isn’t undefeated.
According to a report from Sherdog.com, WWE’s interest in Rousey has held through all of her issues. The report claims that the powers that be are still very interested in her making an appearance or wrestling a match at Wrestlemania 33 if they can get her.
The sources are claiming that the Brock Lesnar situation may give WWE enough leverage to pull it off. On paper, Lesnar for UFC 200 and Rousey for Wrestlemania 33 seems like a fair trade.
By next April, Rousey could be the UFC Bantamweight Champion again, and a bounce back like that will catapult her into her previous spot.
Everyone loses eventually, she just needs to bounce back and WWE realized that. Even if she doesn’t, she is always going to be a top draw and seeing her compete at Wrestlemania would be awesome to see.
