You may have noticed that WWE PPVs have been going over the eleven o’clock hour ever since Wrestlemania 32. It’s not an accident and the powers that be in WWE have been knowingly going over the time limit.
Apparently, this is something that is going to lead to some changes for WWE PPVs because Wrestlemania, or “Summerslam” won’t be the only PPVs that get extended.
According to a report from DailyWrestlingNews.com, WWE PPVs are going to be going past eleven on a much more regular basis to prevent some matches from getting scrapped or losing significant time.
Apparently, WWE has told Sky Italia to start reserving extra time for pay-per-view events as the duration of those shows will vary. That doesn’t mean that every PPV will go past that time, but the opportunity will be there.
Here is an example: the match at Wrestlemania 32 between Dean Ambrose and Brock Lesnar has cut of it’s time, and it drastically hurt the momentum of the match. That wouldn’t have happened under the new way of doing things.
The fact is that the in-ring product is a performance, and sometimes they take longer because the two men or women in the ring have something raw that needs more time.
Do you think WWE PPVs should go beyond eleven o’clock if necessary?
