WWE’s Women’s division is amidst massive changes. The rebranding at Wrestlemania 32 was only the beginning for the division, and there is a new idea going around within WWE right now.
The entire McMahon family is really behind the new changes for the Women’s division, but Triple H and Stephanie McMahon are particularly interested in the growth of the division.
According to a report by DailyWrestlingNews.com, Stephanie recently had the idea to revamp the former “Divas Search” competition from the 00’s, but it’ll be focused on in-ring work rather than a beauty contest.
The report claims that WWE officials have quietly begun working on the project, and it will air at some point before the end of the year on the WWE Network.
The new series will be very similar to the Global Cruiserweight Series that airs this summer. The success of that program will most likely influence the development of the new “Women’s Search” series.
On paper, the idea is to bring and feature the biggest names and most talented women performers from other wrestling promotions throughout the world. There will likely be a mix of everything and will be a major selling point for WWE’s Women’s division for late 2016.
Do you think this is a good idea to help the Women’s division?
