After “Summerslam,” there was a lot of debate about the finish of Brock Lesnar vs. Randy Orton. Overall, the only one who came out of the situation looking good was Orton.
He bled in the ring and did as he was told. People were amazed that he didn’t suffer a concussion after that beatdown from Lesnar. The only problem was it came back to haunt WWE by “Backlash.”
WWE had planned Randy Orton vs. Bray Wyatt for “Backlash,” but that match had to be cancelled when Orton wasn’t medically cleared to compete. Kane vs. Wyatt took its place and Orton did a few spots.
According to a report from CageSideSeats.com, WWE officials knew that Orton had a concussion following “Summerslam,” but elected to cover it up and asked Randy to do the same.
Apparently, even those closest to Randy Orton were told by him that he didn’t have a concussion and was fine after getting cleaned up and receiving some staples to close the wound.
As of this writing, there is no clear return date for Orton to be medically cleared to return to the ring. He took a beatdown from Erick Rowan on SmackDown this week, so he can do a little, but the feud with Bray Wyatt may suffer because of it.
Should WWE cancel the feud between Orton and Wyatt?
