The “Money in the Bank” briefcase is generally a concept that favors heels and gives them an advantage that creates a lot of heel heat.
It’s not that faces can’t win and cash in. Historically, cashing in the contract has favored heels more than faces, or specifically resulted in a face turning heel on more than one occasion.
The fact is that it is just a better concept when it’s held by a top heel, which is why Kevin Owens is said to be the favorite to walk out of this year’s “Money in the Bank” PPV with the contract.
The most popular choice for the fans would be Dean Ambrose or Cesaro. Admittedly, The Lunatic Fringe has been knocking on the WWE title door for quite awhile now and Cesaro getting MITB would be a really good consolation prize to move him to the next level after the recent Intercontinental Championship struggles.
However, Kevin Owens is a top heel. He’s arguably been the top heel in the company for the past year and he’s just as capable to move into the World title picture. He’d be a great opponent for Roman Reigns as well.
Do you think Kevin Owens is a good choice to become Mr. Money in the Bank?
