Rumor: Cody Rhodes Returning Soon

It goes without saying, but someone should say something. Cody Rhodes continues to be one of the most underrated talents on the WWE roster.

The Stardust gimmick is an interesting combination of his talent, the gimmick of his brother Goldust, and a tribute to his father “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes.

He’s been using the Stardust gimmick for over two years, but someone else needs to say this too. The gimmick has never really been over despite many years of good work from Rhodes.

The character has been fun and he’s been a tag team champion with the gimmick, but he hasn’t been able to find success as a singles wrestler.

Unless WWE pulls a huge swerve, it’s unlikely we’ll see Stardust become the Intercontinental Champion tonight, but we may see something great from him if the rumors are true.

According to Wrestlezone.com, Stardust has been teasing a potential return for his Cody Rhodes persona over the last week. During WrestleMania AXXESS, Stardust slaimed that if he doesn’t win the IC Title at WrestleMania then Stardust will be gone and Cody might have to return. H

He also said the following on Twitter:  “decided I am making a last-minute change to my #Wrestlemania waredrobe…”
