Last night on Monday Night Raw, Shane McMahon returned to WWE. It was surreal to see Shane O’Mac back in a WWE ring with his family.

His impact on the show was monumental because even just the Shane McMahon character’s presence immediately challenges The Authority’s power in WWE.

Shane immediately made a play for control of WWE, and he will have it if he can defeat The Undertaker at Wrestlemania in a Hell in a Cell match. On paper, this looks like a no-win scenario for both Shane McMahon and The Undertaker.

Ultimately, Shane must win or else the angle serves no purpose. However, is anyone going to believe that he can beat The Undertaker clean at Wrestlemania in a Hell in a Cell match?

On the other side, why would Undertaker want to beat Shane McMahon? What does he have to gain from defeating him? Not to mention Taker stopping Shane from overthrowing The Authority would force a heel turn and align him with Vince McMahon.

The only reason The Deadman would want to win the match for himself is to avoid having an extremely embarrassing loss to a non-wrestler in the Hell in a Cell at Wrestlemania where he is twenty-two and one in his career.

If Undertaker goes into Wrestlemania as a face, WWE is going to be forced to turn him heel, tarnish his legacy, or kill the Shane McMahon angle that could make the WWE feel fresh for the first time in a few years.

The best option for Shane McMahon vs. The Undertaker is for The Deadman to align with The Authority before Wrestlemania and enter the match in Dallas as a heel.

Sting and The Undertaker Scheduled For Wizard World Comic Con Chicago in August

This is where things get really interesting.

The only logic way for Shane McMahon to defeat The Undertaker is if another wrestler interferes on his behalf, but that is most likely going to force a heel turn on the attacker if Undertaker is a face going into the match.

That would also place a huge damper on Shane McMahon’s victory over The Authority even though it’s supposed to be one of the most triumphant moments of the night.

If The Undertaker is the heel, that opens the window of opportunity for someone like Sting to enter the Hell in a Cell and cost Undertaker the match and vanquish The Authority once and for all after he failed to do so back in 2014.

It makes sense for Sting’s character to do that and The Undertaker would seek revenge against him, which would give WWE the golden opportunity to book Sting vs. The Undertaker for Wrestlemania 33. WWE could even announce the dream match a year early.

Hopefully, WWE has thought this out because this truly is the perfect scenario to drastically change WWE programming with Shane McMahon. It’s an incredible opportunity for WWE to give the WWE Universe Sting vs. The Undertaker before it’s too late.

WWE has an epic scenario in front of them at this year’s Wrestlemania. Hopefully, they’ve taken the time to think this one out for once.
