Austin Aries finally revealed his tag team partner for the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. Although it was well known that his partner would be Roderick Strong, it was still a cool thing to see two members of Generation Next wrestling in NXT together.

Roderick Strong is yet another good signing for NXT and his ties with Aries made an ideal tag team for the Dusty Rhodes Classic. However, there is cause for concern for Strong in NXT and on WWE TV because he may have a glass ceiling over his head.

He’s a very good wrestler and he’ll be a great addition to NXT. There are a lot of matches for him to have with many different opponents. Strong will provide very good depth for NXT’s midcard over the next few months, especially after guys leave early next year.

However, I’m questioning if he’s going to be over enough to make big waves in NXT. His reaction last night wasn’t overwhelming, especially when you look at how a guy like Bobby Roode came into the brand. I’m concerned that he’ll never make the main roster.

There is no doubt in my mind that he’ll be good for NXT. I’m just not sure if he’s got the appeal that will get him over with the NXT audience the same way other top guys from ROH have in the past. It’s very early to know for sure, so let’s see what he can do.
