Goldberg’s return to WWE was great. Sure, it could have been booked as a surprise return, but there was something good and genuinely emotional about him returning with only the fans and his family to share the awesome moment.

The payoff is Goldberg accepting Brock Lesnar’s challenge for a fight and proclaiming that Lesnar is not only “next,” but he’s “last.” There is strangely poetic about “You’re Last.” It’s the swan song, but it also perfect summarizes what made Goldberg great.

It’s simple, but still makes the point very loudly with only a few words. Now, he is looking to give out the last ass kicking his has left in him against the biggest ass kicker WWE has ever had. Goldberg vs. Lesnar is fully on now, but is it too predictable?

There is a lot to like about this feud and story even if Brock Lesnar gets the win. On paper, Lesnar absolutely should get the win. What would Goldberg do with the win?

However, it would be strange to have Goldberg return after twelve years only to lose, right? Goldberg’s swan song is going to be explosive. That’s the point and his dance partner is going to need to bring it because Goldberg is bringing everything he has left.
