It was reported on a few weeks ago that Ezekiel Jackson, otherwise known as Big Ryck in Lucha Underground has dropped out or left the promotion for undisclosed reasons.

The report a few weeks ago claimed that Ezekiel Jackson had informed the promoters of German promotion Westside Xtreme Wrestling (wXw) that he had officially made the decision to retire from pro wrestling after the match that night. The report didn’t disclose the reasons for his sudden retirement at the time either, but the reason was rumored to be a personal decision and not injury related.

However, Jackson’s agent, Bill Behrens, made the following statement on those rumors that Jackson had retired:

Big Ryck/Big Zeke (WWE’s Ezekiel Jackson) did not wrestle his last match at a recent wXw show in Germany, nor retire from wrestling regardless of the various Internet reports to the contrary. His Wikipedia page was even incorrectly updated to note his “retirement”.  The only source for this info was from within the wXw promotion, and not Rycklon Stevens, who never confirmed the retirement to any Internet reporter.

He is still available for bookings and now flies out of San Francisco.

ProWrestlingSheet.com is reporting today that sources within Lucha Underground have been told that Big Ryck won’t be appearing in season two of the show. The reason is once again a mystery, but those around Jackson were said to be surprised by the decision.
