Launching in 2016, WWE and Tapout will begin a partnership to bring the Tapout brand into a new level to become competitive with even Under Armour in the future.

This partnership was announced and came to light after WWE’s third quarter conference call last week. According to Justin Labar, The Bella Twins could have been major driving forces for this new partnership. Labar sent out the following tweet:

According to PWInsider.com, the primary goal of Tapout and WWE is to build the brand to become more of an overall fitness brand. WWE plans on refocusing the old MMA-themed Tapout brand to reach a wider audience. WWE has made a massive investment into Tapout with the brand giving WWE equity stake in the clothing brand.

A significant part of the plan involves the opening of Tapout Fitness Centers. Current location ideas include Brooklyn, Las Vegas, Portland, Phoenix, Los Angeles, and Houston to start. WWE will lend talents to the Fitness Centers for personal appearances and public workouts.

On November 11th in Leeds, a fitness class hosted by Ryback and Seth Rollins during their UK tour. The class will be used to test the waters for the Tapout deal. We can expect WWE to promote the Tapout brand very heavily in the future.
