The current Women’s Champion Charlotte has made some big changes over the past week. At “Extreme Rules”, Dana Brooke emerged as an ally and the two former a duo.
The next night on Monday Night Raw, Charlotte banished her father, Ric Flair from her side because she wants him to feel as she felt watching him on top of the mountain of wrestling.
Recently, Charlotte explained her rise to the top of the mountain during an interview with The Advertiser to promote the upcoming tour of Australia.
You can read the full interview right here. Below are some of the highlights:
Who does she give a lot of credit to for teacher her?
“I’ve come up in this business because of Emma … when I started, she was the girl who really helped me get to where I am today, 100 per cent. I remember watching Emma at a live special, just sitting there loving every moment, in absolute awe, thinking ‘I want to be as good as her one day’.”
Working to change audience perceptions of women in sports with every match?
“We just love what we do, we wanted to work hard and we wanted to be the best, now we’re main-eventing shows. There’s a message we want to send, especially to little girls, but also to the men and women who watch us perform. We’re not just girls or women, we’re strong characters who stand for something bigger than ourselves — women’s wrestling isn’t the popcorn break anymore.”
