Last week during TNA’s tour of the United Kingdom, Awesome Kong got into an altercation with Reby Sky and it was obvious that someday soon the punishment was coming. Well, today is that day.

Today, Awesome Kong was released by TNA due to the incident last week. TNA made the following statement about their decision to release Awesome Kong from the company:

“Following a physical altercation in the locker room last week during IMPACT WRESTLING’s UK Tour, TNA announces today the release of Awesome Kong (Kia Stevens).

“We conducted an investigation and determined releasing Awesome Kong is the appropriate action in this case,” said TNA Executive Vice President of Talent Relations and Television John Gaburick. “Kong has been a great contributor to TNA and helped solidify the Knockouts as the best female division in professional wrestling. We thank her and wish her well.”

Awesome Kong also made the following statement on Twitter about her release from the company:

There have been recent rumors of Kong potentially retiring sooner rather than later. Although a WWE return is certainly in the cards, there is no news on what the future holds for Awesome Kong. Her dominance would be welcome to any promotion, but the recent issues with her attitude could lead to bigger problems.
