Alberto Del Rio Qualifies For “Money in the Bank” Ladder Match Next Month

Alberto Del Rio is in a really interesting place right now. Despite what people say about his connection with the WWE Universe, we all know how good he is in the squared circle.

Since the end of The League of Nations, he hasn’t been featured much on WWE television.and the rumors behind the scenes are that he’s disgruntled about that.

From a business perspective, WWE hired him to be a commodity and he’s no doubt making a lot of money to sit on the bench and hang out with Paige.

That’s exactly why during Tuesday’s SmackDown tapings, Del Rio defeated Zack Ryder in a qualifying match for the “Money in the Bank” Ladder match next month at the PPV.

Now, it’s unlikely that he’ll hold the briefcase for the second time in his career, but it’s a solid spot that is going to add a tough competitor to the match.

There are still many things that Del Rio could do in WWE. The brand split could create some interesting new challenges for him on television. We could always see Del Rio vs. Roman Reigns, but seeing Del Rio in the IC title hunt against someone like Cesaro could be extremely fun to watch.
