The brand split is going to take a lot of organization to pull off. It’s good that WWE has a launching point for Shane McMahon to take either Monday Night Raw or SmackDown, and Stephanie will take the other choice.
However, the real challenge of the situation is going to be splitting up the roster to benefit both shows and not make it too heavy on Raw or SmackDown initially.
Obviously, both brands are going to have a top star and a face. It’s now being reported that the internal belief is that John Cena will be the face of SmackDown and Roman Reigns will be the top star of Monday Night Raw.
Those are solid selections based on marketability and what WWE wants from their top guys, but it’s going to be interesting to see where certain guys fall.
For example, it’s being said that Brock Lesnar’s spot is being debated because he has the opportunity to be this wild card that could appear on either show based on whatever feud is planned for him next.
We all have questions, but the rumor is that WWE is going to answer all big questions over the next few weeks.
