A few days ago, the new broke that longtime TNA stars Bobby Roode and Eric Young left TNA Wrestling and are now both free agents after this past weekend.

It was revealed that both men asked for their releases from the company, but there hasn’t been much detail as to why they ultimately decided to leave TNA after a dozen years with the company.

According to PWInsider.com, their departures had absolutely nothing to do with each other and were done at the same time out of coincidence. Instead, both situations were brought about by TNA’s issues being able to pay them what they believed they deserved.

For Eric Young, many were surprised by his departure because of his company loyalty. He even signed a new deal recently, but other guys would come into the company and get better deals despite not having nearly as many years as him in the company or the industry.

That left him frustrated, and he spoke up to TNA officials about his feelings, and they told him to make a decision, and then he made the choice to leave because he’s approaching forty years old and doesn’t want to be locked down to an exclusive TNA deal.

Bobby Roode’s situation was different from Young’s but very similar to the one that led AJ Styles to leave the company a few years ago.

Roode’s lucrative deal with TNA expired in February, but the kind of money he was asking for couldn’t be paid to him, especially with Roode being in a tag team again with recently signed James Storm.

Apparently, there were also some issues with TNA paying him consistently, and he was very vocal about it. He requested his release, and it was given to him.

Both men worked the last shows of their TNA deals this past weekend and are now free to sign with anyone they wish.
