Twice in a week? One of the big stories that came out of last week was Big Cass destroying his knee and putting him on the shelf for nine months. That’s the kind of injury you dread hearing about as a wrestling fan and it seems that we might have a second serious knee injury on our hands.
According to Wrestlinginc.com, Xavier Woods was badly injured at a house show on Monday in Texarkana, Arkansas. During a three way tag match with New Day vs. Breezango vs. the Usos, Woods attempted a jumping DDT but was shoved away and landed awkwardly with his knee buckling. The referee threw up an X to end the match and Kofi Kingston was rolled up for a fast pin.
Woods is often a tag wrestler but occasionally he’ll have a singles match like this one:
John Cena vs. Xavier Woods - United States Championship Match: Raw, Sept. 28, 2015
Opinion: Hopefully this is a lot less serious than it seems but any time you hear the words “knee buckled”, it’s definitely not a good sign. Woods isn’t the top in-ring star for the team but a two man New Day isn’t going to be the same thing. This sounds like a bad injury but hopefully it’s not that bad.
What do you think WWE would do if Woods is badly injured? Should New Day stay together as a two man team? Let us know in the comments below.
