You might have heard this one before. It’s not often that the NFL and WWE cross over but that was the case recently when the Dallas Cowboys drafted a safety from Louisiana Tech in the sixth round. This might not sound like anything interesting, but it turns out that the safety has a name that might be familiar to wrestling fans.
As luck would have it, the Dallas Cowboys drafted a player named Xavier Woods in the sixth round. WWE.com
made sure to make it clear that the two were in fact different people. In a slightly less serious note, they also pointed out a meme that CBS Sports put out, showing the name the two players share.
Opinion: While this is little more than a coincidence, it’s always cool to see a mainstream sports outlet discuss WWE. I thought the same thing when I saw Woods being drafted and it gave me a little smile. Wrestling can get inside your head like that at times and there’s nothing wrong with that.
