We’re not quite done yet. One of the major points of the WWE Hall of Fame is to honor the history of wrestling. However, one of the criticisms of the Hall of Fame is that it doesn’t go far enough back into history. That problem was somewhat corrected last year with the addition of the Legacy wing, which honored an older generation of wrestlers. The idea is back this year with another crop of wrestlers.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter by way of 411mania.com,
the second Legacy group will include Dr. Jerry Graham, Haystacks Calhoun, Luther Lindsay, Rikidozan, June Byers, Judy Grable, Farmer Burns and Toots Mondt. Most of these have some connection to the WWE but it ranges the entire world of wrestling.
Opinion: I know WWE might not put the most effort into this concept, but it’s nice to see them actually trying to honor the other generations. There’s a lot of talent from back in the day and without them, there would be a lot of changes to the wrestling world. This is a nice concept and I’m glad WWE is trying it.
