That’s a plan. We are coming up on the end of the year and that means it is time to start getting ready for whatever WWE has planned in the coming year. That includes the build to WrestleMania 41, which will again span two nights. As a result, WWE is going to need something special to make the card work, which is what we should be seeing, though it might take some work to get there.

According to WrestleVotes on Backstage pass by way of Cagesideseats.com, WWE is planning to have CM Punk in a World Title match at WrestleMania 41. However, it is not clear how that will take place, as Punk is not currently scheduled for a program with either Cody Rhodes nor Gunther, the reigning World Champions. There is no word on how the match will be made or whom Punk will be facing.

Opinion: This is certainly a way to go, as Punk has long since wanted to be in the main event of WrestleMania. That might be taking place next year and that could make for quite the special moment. Having Punk wrestle for the World Title sooner than later could make for an interesting situation and Punk has certainly earned the spot given his recent efforts in the ring and on the mic.
