Even more. We are in the middle of a period of change for WWE as all three of the company’s major television shows are moving to new platforms. This has included SmackDown, which has already moved back to the USA Network after five years on FOX. It turns out that might not be the only change taking place, as the show could be getting a lot bigger.

According to WrestleVotes Radio, SmackDown is expected to expand to three hours a week starting with the January 3 edition. This would be the first time that the show would expand beyond two hours, though this has not been announced so far. In addition, the show expected to be available the following day on Netflix, which has not been the case before.

Opinion: This isn’t the biggest surprise, as there is something to be said about having more content when WWE is being paid so much money for the shows. At the same time, Monday Night Raw being three hours compared to SmackDown’s two hours does not line up as well so this is about as logical of a move as there is. As long as the show’s quality holds up, it should work well.
