You mean there’s NO more? One of the biggest stories over the last few weeks has been Daniel Bryan and John Cena not being willing to work Friday’s Crown Jewel event. While Cena isn’t as big of a deal since he only wrestles part time, Bryan is a current top star who was to be featured in a World Title match. That match took place on SmackDown Live this week instead of at Crown Jewel, so what is next for Bryan?
According to Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Live, there are currently no plans for Bryan to continue in the main event scene at the moment. The finish to Bryan’s match with Styles on SmackDown Live was the same finish planned for Crown Jewel, meaning Bryan’s clean loss on the show will be the end of his time in the main event scene for now. There is no word on where he is going from here.
At least it was great.
Opinion: As much as I would have loved to see Bryan win the title, Styles is about a week away from holding the title for a full year and it would be a bit ridiculous to have him lose the title so close to that milestone. It’s great that they had Bryan vs. Styles in some form, which is more than we would have gotten had the match just been dropped altogether. Bryan will likely be back in the main event some day, just due to his popularity and talent alone.
