They’ve still got it. This past Sunday at Evolution, Trish Stratus and Lita returned to the ring as a tag team against Alicia Fox and Mickie James. The longtime rivals have become friends since retiring, though they seem to be back in the ring at the moment, even appearing in a ten woman tag on Monday Night Raw. That would seem to be it for them, but maybe they’re not done yet.
According to WrestleZone.com, there is a chance that Stratus and Lita may be continuing to appear on WWE television in the coming months. This may be designed to set up a tag match at WrestleMania 35 next year against a team to be announced. The pair both retired from active competition back in 2006 but both have made occasional appearances since then, including wrestling infrequently.
It’s not like there’s a lot of rust.
Opinion: I’m interested in this to a certain degree, as long as the big match isn’t the two legends vs. the Bella Twins. That being said…it’s going to be the Bellas isn’t it? That’s probably about as big of a match as you can have, unless Bayley and Sasha Banks have had their 148th reunion by the time WrestleMania rolls around. Lita and Stratus have looked fine in their two outings and it would be fine to have them around even longer, as long as it’s not over saturated.
Do you want the legends to stay around? Who do you want them to face at WrestleMania 35? Let us know in the comments below.
