That’s what they had? There are all kinds of storylines in wrestling, some of which are almost one of a kind. You are going to see some situations that are more than a bit odd and do not even offer a conclusion. Sometimes you have to wait years to find out what was going on, which is the case again, though in this case it turns out that there was nothing to see in the first place.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: He’s In: WWE Superstar Reveals He Has Signed A New Contract
Back in 2016, WWE presented a storyline where Shane McMahon wanted to run Monday Night Raw, while Vince McMahon would not allow it. Eventually Shane threatened to reveal the contents of a lockbox which contained a variety of secrets about Vince. Shane lost to the Undertaker at WrestleMania 32, allowing Vince to gain control of the lockbox, which was almost never mentioned again. According to Fightful Select, various members of the WWE Creative team have said that there was never any plans for the lockbox, as Vince threw the idea out there. WWE never had any plans for the contents of the lockbox and never will.
It was a screwy story. Check out what happened:
Opinion: This isn’t the biggest surprise as there was very little that could have been in the lockbox that would have made sense of the whole thing. At the end of the day, it was a messy situation and what we got didn’t even work. I’m not stunned that WWE never had a plan in the first place and it is kind of nice to have the whole thing wrapped up, even if there was nothing to wrap.
