They liked it. There are all kinds of segments and matches that come together to make a wrestling show work. As always, some of them will be better than others, both in the eyes of the fans and the promotion as well. That is something that can lead to some interesting moments when a match receives praise and that is what we saw this week for a WWE grudge match.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Back In: Reigning Champion Returning To AEW Following Months Long Injury Absence

This week’s Monday Night Raw featured Ludwig Kaiser defeating Sheamus in an upset. According to Fightful Select by way of Wrestlingnews.co, the match is receiving praise backstage from those in WWE. Sheamus has already requested a rematch with Kaiser, though it is not clear when or if that will take place. The match was Kaiser’s first singles win on Monday Night Raw since January.

It was a good one. Check out the setup, the match and the fallout:

Opinion: I’m not overly surprised that the match was so well received as it was a hard hitting, back and forth match that saw Sheamus’ knee injury tied in throughout the whole thing. At the end of the day, that is the kind of match that will often be praised and it shouldn’t be a surprise given the talented wrestlers involved. I could certainly go for a rematch and now we might be getting one.
