They did it. Title changes are some of the most important moments of any event as they show both the end of one thing and the beginning of something new. Someone new getting to hold a championship shows that there is a changing of the guard while also boosting someone up the card. That was the case with two people this week as a pair of new champions were crowned.

The main event of this week’s SmackDown saw the Bloodline’s Tama Tonga and Jacob Fatu defeat DIY to win the WWE Tag Team Titles. This marks the first title reign for both of them in WWE. Fatu replaced an injured Tonga Loa in a gauntlet match last week, which the Bloodline won to earn their title match on this week’s show. DIY had held the titles for 28 days, winning them from A-Town Down Under on July 5.

Opinion: This is the logical way to go as the Bloodline is on the rise again in WWE. Having them massacre the reigning champions to win the titles was a great boost and we could be in for something rather good from the team going forward. They had to start in a big way though and that is what they did here, with the new champions looking rather impressive in the process.
