Welcome? Wrestling promotions are like any other sport in that they have to refresh their rosters every so often. That can be a tricky situation to pull off but it can work rather well if done right. Sometimes you will see a wrestler’s debut announced in advance as a way to build up anticipation. That is what we saw this week, as WWE is teasing at least one debut in the near future.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Triple Threat: WWE Confirms Three Special Hosts For Bad Blood
This week on SmackDown, a vignette aired showing a car driving down a road and then a shot of the city of Detroit, Michigan, with a description of “coming soon”. According to PWInsider.com, the vignette is for the debut of the Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley). The team had reportedly signed with the company earlier this summer and was going to be debuting in NXT, but the plans seem to have changed. There is no word on when they will debut.
This could be good. Check out the vignette, plus some other WWE debuts:
Opinion: This makes sense, as it couldn’t be much more specific without using their names. That is a good thing to see as well, as the team could easily be brought in either together or on their own. SmackDown’s tag division could use a boost and bringing in one of the most successful and influential teams of this generation should help a lot. I’m looking forward to seeing how it goes, though things are a least already set up.
What did you think of the vignette? How would the team do in WWE? Let us know in the comments below.
