Sayonara. Saturday marked the one year anniversary of Shinsuke Nakamura making his WWE debut as he defeated Sami Zayn at “Takeover: Dallas”. Nakamura rocked up the card and became a two time NXT Champion inside of six months. He would go on to lose the title to Bobby Roode, who would successfully defend the title against Nakamura at “Takeover: Orlando”. After the loss, something interesting happened.

Once the show went off the air with Roode celebrating, Nakamura got to his feet (despite his horrible knee injury) and was given a hero’s sendoff. There isn’t much of a secret to the fact that Nakamura is probably on his way to the main roster (and, according to him, preferably “Smackdown Live”). Bayley and Sami Zayn received the same treatment before moving up to the main roster last year.

Opinion: This isn’t the biggest surprise in the world and it’s the right call. Nakamura is getting up there in years and there’s no point in having him stick around NXT where he has nothing left to accomplish. He was ready for the main roster years ago and now we’ve seen a year of him running roughshod over NXT. Odds are he’s on the main roster this week but first, he deserved to be treated like this.
