Talk to me. There are all kinds of people involved in the production of a wrestling show without getting into the ring. This would include the commentary team, who are tasked with guiding the fans through the show and telling them what they are seeing. That is a hard task to pull off and it is a big deal when the commentary team is shaken up. WWE has done just that again.

This week on Monday Night Raw, Pat McAfee made a surprise return where he was announced as the new color analyst for the show, joining Michael Cole. This comes after McAfee returned to commentary at the Royal Rumble. There is no word on what this means for Wade Barrett, who had been calling the show along with Cole. The change comes after Kevin Patrick was released from the company last week, leaving SmackDown without a main play by play announcer.

Opinion: McAfee is a great addition to the show as not only does he have a huge fan base of his own, but he also has quite the knack for doing commentary. It’s clear that he loves wrestling and knows how to keep the interest going. Hopefully this works out well for everyone, including Barrett, who was doing well in his role on Monday Night Raw but McAfee is just a bigger name and I can get why WWE chose him for the spot.
