That’s never good. There are all kinds of ways a wrestler can be injured and some of them take place during a match. You never know when someone is going to get hurt and it can change the course of a match at any time. It can happen to any star of any level and unfortunately it seems to have taken place again this weekend in the middle of a championship match.

Over the weekend, Mercedes Mone appeared to be injured during the main event of NJPW Resurgence. During the match, Mone was on the top rope and was knocked off, seemingly injuring her knee on the landing, though this has NOT been confirmed. There is no word on if Mone’s injury is legitimate or a storyline. Mone went on to lose the match, which was for the inaugural NJPW Strong Women’s Championship, to Willow Nightingale. Mone would have to be helped to the back after the match.
It was a nasty moment. Check out where Mone may have been hurt, plus Mone in better health:
Opinion: Hopefully Mone’s situation isn’t too bad, as that was a horrible looking landing. A knee can be a rather messy injury and what matters most is that she can get back to full strength as fast as possible. Mone has been on a roll since arriving in New Japan and it would be a shame to have that stopped cold because of a fluke accident. If nothing else, at least the match was able to finish, though we’ll have to see how much damage is done.
What do you think of Mone? Will she return to WWE? Let us know in the comments below.
