It’s never happened before. With as many events as WWE holds every year, it can be difficult to find something that has not happened before. Once in awhile though they can find something different that offers fans a first time look at something. This can be even trickier when it is a match between two people who have been around for a long time, but now we got to see something like that.

The post show dark match following this week’s SmackDown saw Jey Uso challenge Gunther for the Intercontinental Title. This was a first time ever match as the two have never faced off in a singles match before. Gunther retained the title via disqualification when he kicked Uso low. Following the match, Uso hit Gunther with a spear. There is nothing to suggest that the two will be feuding on television.

It was a big one. Check out most of the match, plus the two in televised matches:

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that makes for a cool moment as an event, as you never know what kind of special thing you are going to see. The fans are still way into Uso and seeing him get the chance to be a singles champion is a nice event. At the very least, it makes me wonder what WWE might be considering for Uso going forward, as he certainly has the talent to do something on his own.
