No sweet home Chicago. One of the only matches announced for this month’s “Takeover: Chicago” special is a four way for the Women’s Title with champion Asuka defending against Ember Moon, Nikki Cross and Ruby Riot. However, the eternally dangerous injury bug has bitten one of the challengers.
According to both an article on WWE.com and a video posted on WWE’s YouTube channel, Moon is out of the match due to a shoulder injury suffered in a battle royal on a recent episode of “NXT”. Her estimated time out of the ring will be four to five weeks. There is no word on if the match will be changed to a triple threat or if a replacement will be added.
Ember Moon reveals that an injury will prevent her from competing at NXT TakeOver: May 8, 2017
Opinion: If Moon is indeed the one to take the title away from Asuka, I’d rather it be in a singles match instead of a mess of a four way. Those things are always so chaotic and it doesn’t really allow any single challenger to be showcased. Moon could be a major player in the division with one heck of a finisher. At least it’s not that long of a recovery period.
Do you think Moon takes the title from Asuka? If she does, when does it happen? Let us know in the comments below.
