That’s a special one. There have been some legends in the wrestling world with some names that have stood the test of time long after they have stepped out of the ring. You will occasionally see some of these wrestlers get a special tribute, often in a place you might not expect it to happen. That was the case again this week, with a wrestling legend being honored by another sport.

The Fayetteville Marksmen of the Southern Professional Hockey League paid tribute to WWE Hall Of Famer Mick Foley over the weekend as part of Pro Wrestling Night. During their November 4 game against the Knoxville Ice Bears (which the Marksmen won 5-2), the team wore plaid jerseys and featured a Cactus Jack wanted poster themed logo. Foley appeared at the game as a special guest and live matches were held.

Opinion: There is something very cool about seeing a wrestling legend getting honored by something that has nothing to do with wrestling. It shows what kind of an impact Foley made throughout his career and it was awesome to see his iconic look used for something like this. If nothing else, it makes me wonder what kind of other ideas the team has, because that’s incredibly creative.
