That’s the next logical step. Extreme Rules had quite the surprise ending as Brock Lesnar cashed in his Money in the Bank briefcase on Seth Rollins to become the Universal Champion for the third time. That left WWE to get ready for the build to Summerslam, where Rollins will get his rematch after winning a battle royal on Monday Night Raw. There’s a little more to it than that though.
WWE has released a video from after this week’s Monday Night Raw, showing Rollins venting a bit of frustration and showing some emotion before leaving the ring to end the night. Rollins had just finished winning the battle royal and had wanted to face Lesnar immediately after. Lesnar teased coming to the ring for the fight but backed away instead, leaving Rollins alone to end the show.
He’s got some fire. Check out Rollins after the show was over:
Opinion: That’s about you could have expected and it’s better than seeing Rollins vs. Baron Corbin instead. The Summerslam rematch might not be the most interesting in the world but it’s what makes the most sense. There isn’t much time to set up a fresh challenger for Lesnar and Rollins deserves a rematch. That being said, you can only get through the same match so many times before it stops being interesting.
