It could be worse. There are all kinds of injuries that can leave a wrestler on the sidelines for a long time. This can derail any plans that a promotion might have for them and there is very little that can be done. At the same time, there is always the chance that a wrestler’s injury could merely be part of a storyline. Thankfully that seems to be the case this week with someone in a prominent role.

The end of last week’s AEW Dynamite saw Hangman Page favoring his ankle, leading to conflicting reports about whether his injury was legitimate or part of a storyline. This week’s Dynamite opened with Page coming to the ring on a crutch and saying he was out of the triple threat match at Revolution, also involving Swerve Strickland and AEW World Champion Samoa Joe. Strickland and Joe then came out and argued, with Page attacking Strickland and saying he was still in the title match before leaving with no problems.
It was a big one. Check out the segment, plus Page in action:
Opinion: This was quite the twist with Page’s beating on Strickland being quite entertaining, though it was quite the elaborate ruse for Page to do anything. I’m not sure how the title match is going to go, but there is quite the interesting setup with having three very legitimate contenders. Page walking out of Revolution as champion is a strong possibility and we had to have last night’s segment to make that a possibility.
