He’s in too. There are all kinds of wrestlers throughout the industry but only a few of them have gone on to become legends. It is quite the honor and status and making it that far, especially while still an active wrestler, is rather impressive. Now a wrestler who has certainly reached that status is showing up again, but in a rather different placen than you might have expected.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Maybe? Very Slight Possibility That Vince McMahon Could Bring Back WWE Legend At Summerslam
In recent weeks, FTW Champion Jack Perry has been taking shots at ECW. Former ECW World Champion Jerry Lynn stood up to Perry, but this week on AEW Dynamite, Lynn said he was not medically cleared to face Perry. Instead, Lynn brought out WWE Hall Of Famer Rob Van Dam to face Perry in Lynn’s place. An FTW Title match between Van Dam and Perry has been set for the August 9 Dynamite, with Van Dam saying he might retire the title if he becomes champion.
This was a big one. Check out Van Dam’s appearance and time in the ring:
Opinion: The story might not be for everyone, but there is something to be said about having a star as big as Van Dam in this spot. He has a status that few others can reach, though hopefully the match lives up to the hype. Van Dan is only a part time wrestler these days and what matters is being able to see him turn back the clock just enough to make this work.
