Hand it over. Titles are some of the most important things in wrestling as they go a long way to showing fans the top stars. Someone holding a championship and being called the top star in any division is a simple concept to grasp and it has worked for decades in wrestling. A title change can be a big deal for a lot of people and that is what took place again this week.

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Money, Money: WrestleMania 39 Reportedly Worth Over $215 MILLION

This week on AEW Dynamite, Hikaru Shida defeated Toni Storm to win the AEW Women’s Title in the show’s main event. Shida won the title after thwarting interference from the Outcasts. The title change marks Shida’s second reign with the title, making her the second ever two time champion (after Storm). Shida’s first reign mainly took place during the Coronavirus pandemic, with commentary pointing out that Shida will now be champion in front of fans.

It was a big one. Check out Shida’s win and time in AEW:

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that you need to happen on a major show, such as this week’s 200th edition of Dynamite. Shida winning the title back is a nice feel good moment and it would be nice to see her getting to defend the title in front of fans for once. If nothing else, it was nice to see something special like this, as a title match always feels like a big moment.
