He had something to say. There are several ways to build up a feud between two wrestlers but there are times when things can get a little complicated. CM Punk suffered a torn tricep during the Royal Rumble at the hands of Drew McIntyre, resulting in surgery which will keep Punk out of action for several months. Punk and McIntyre have feuded since, with Punk costing McIntyre the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania. McIntyre has called Punk out since, including this week in a dark match after SmackDown. McIntyre promised to win the title back at Clash At The Castle and give Punk a shot, which would be worse than Punk “embarrassed himself in the UFC”. Punk is expected to be back in the ring later this year.

Those are fighting words. Check out the promo, plus McIntyre and Punk’s history:

Opinion: The best thing I can say about this whole thing is I want to see these two fight. That’s the sign of a great feud and they have managed to make it happen despite Punk only being around occasionally. It’s great to see WWE manage to keep things hot between them as Punk is already about four months into recovery. That doesn’t leave long before he’s back in the ring and the fight with McIntyre has all kinds of potential.
