He’s earned it. There is a constant stream of new stars coming into WWE but there is no way of knowing who might be the next breakout star. Back in 2002, WWE had perhaps the most successful rookie class in its history, as several future World Champions joined the promotion in the same year. There was one who did not get the same recognition, though now things might be changing.

WWE has released a video celebrating the twentieth anniversary of Shelton’s Benjamin’s debut with the company. The video includes several wrestlers talking about Benjamin’s career and how well he has done over his time with the company. Benjamin was part of the rookie class of 2002 along with John Cena, Batista, Brock Lesnar and Randy Orton and trained with them in Ohio Valley Wrestling, debuting on December 26, 2002.

Opinion: This is the kind of video that WWE does very well, as they have the video library and history to make it work so well. Benjamin has been around WWE for what feels like the better part of ever, even with a seven year gap in the middle. He is still one of the best athletes WWE has ever seen and I could have gone with seeing him get a much stronger push than he had over the years.
