Hook em up. Tag team wrestling has a weird history in WWE, as it has had some bright spots but has often been little more than filler on a lot of shows. Even in the worse times though, tag wrestling has always had something of a place in WWE, with several teams standing out in history. Now there is another team in the company and this one even has a name.
Ikemen Jiro and Kushida have formed a tag team in NXT and in a new video, they have announced their team name as Jacket Time. The name comes from a combination of the jacket that Jiro wears in in the ring and Kushida’s previous team, the Time Splitters. The team has yet to wrestle a match together, but have been shown in various backstage segments together.
It’s a unique name. Check out the announcement, plus both of them in action:
Opinion: It’s certainly something different, though I’m not sure how far a team called Jacket Time is going to go in NXT. I could see them getting a few wins to establish the team, but odds are this ends with the team as little more than jobbers to the stars. At least the two of them have a lot of charisma and are both talented in the ring, so the team should do rather well.
What do you think of the team name? How will the team do? Let us know in the comments below.
