WWE does give you fair warning. Wrestling fans like wrestling. I know that sounds like a really simplified statement but it’s true. They like watching the shows and supporting their favorite wrestlers, be it by cheering for them, making signs for them or buying their merchandise. In some cases though they like to imitate them, and this time around that wasn’t a good idea.
According to WPLG 10 (ABC news affiliate in Miami), an 18 year old student in a Miami high school was arrested and charged with attacking a school official when he attempted an RKO. A video filmed at the time shows the student jumping the school’s principal and shouting RKO. The student doesn’t seem to hurt the principal, who shoves him away without much trouble. The student is currently being held in jail but is likely to be released. You can see the full incident below:
This is one of those things that seems a little drummed up. Check out the news report with footage of both the incident and from the court appearance:
Opinion: This seems like a situation that is being blown out of proportion, but at the same time, what would have happened to the principal if the kid had caught him off guard? The RKO is the kind of move that could injure someone, especially if they don’t know it’s coming or if they land hard on the floor. This wasn’t the brightest idea in the world and while I don’t think the student should be severely punished but he should be punished in some way.
What do you think of this incident? How much trouble should the student be in? Let us know in the comments below.
