He’s next. We are less than a month away from the Royal Rumble and that means it is time to start setting up the show. As usual though, that can be rather tricky when sixty people are going to be tied up in two matches. There are a few ways to get around that problem though, and WWE is going to be doing just that in one of the show’s main event title matches.
This week on SmackDown, Adam Pearce was told to find Roman Reigns’ challenger for the Universal Title at the Royal Rumble. At the end of the show, Reigns was in his dressing room when Seth Rollins came in, signifying that he would be the next challenger. The match has yet to be officially announced. Rollins defeated Reigns for the WWE Championship at Money in the Bank 2016. Their most recent singles match came on the October 11, 2019 SmackDown, with Rollins winning via disqualification.
It was a big moment. Check out Rollins’ appearance, plus what these two do against each other:
Opinion: This is a good idea for WWE, as Rollins and Reigns have not faced each other in a good while and Rollins could feel like a threat to the title. That is the kind of thing WWE could use at the moment, as Reigns has run through almost everyone else in the company at the moment. If nothing else, it is a stepping stone to get them to the next Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar match, which seems set for WrestleMania 38.
What do you think of the idea? How would the match go? Let us know in the comments below.
