In the main event of this week’s Monday Night Raw, Jey Uso defeated Bron Breakker to win the Intercontinental Title. The win marks the first singles title of Uso’s career following nine Tag Team Titles. Uso won a tournament to earn the title shot, winning a four way match in the finals. The win ends Breakker’s reign at fifty one days after he won the title from Sami Zayn at Summerslam.

Opinion: This is what needed to happen at some point, as Uso had lost so many title shots and had to win something at some point. Even if he loses the title almost immediately, what matters is that Uso won the title in the first place. Breakker is in a weird place as he needs to win the title back, but he can also absorb a loss fairly easily without losing much momentum.
