On the Summerslam stage. Over eight years ago, Daniel Bryan made his WWE debut as part of the first season of NXT. His official NXT Pro was the Miz, sending a lot of fans through the roof. How dare the Miz of all people be the one who is telling Bryan how to wrestle? A feud grew from this, turning into one of the hottest rivalries in years. Bryan was injured before they could have the match at the top of their games but now he’s back healthy. You know what that means.
Dare I say…..Yes?
In a new video posted to WWE’s YouTube page, the Miz has accepted Bryan’s challenge to a match at Summerslam. Bryan has said that he wants to face Miz ever since he was cleared to return to the ring, even getting Miz sent to SmackDown Live so it could happen. In recent weeks Bryan has issued challenges to Miz for Summerslam and Miz has finally accepted the match.
Opinion: I’m not sure what to expect from this match. It’s something that WWE absolutely had to do and I’m not sure if it’s possible to live up to the hype. There’s also the Bryan contract issue hanging over the match as he might be gone from the company less than a month from now. That is almost guaranteed to play a role in the match, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see Miz pull off the surprise win.
