Two for the price of free. A positive trend over the last few weeks has been matches being announced upwards of a week in advance. It’s very tiresome having a match being announced one night and then taking place later in the same show. Thankfully WWE has been a bit better about announcing things in advance and they’re doing it again for next week.

This week on “Smackdown Live”, two matches were announced for next week’s show: Randy Orton vs. Shinsuke Nakamura for the #1 contendership to the Smackdown World Title and Natalya vs. Carmella in a non-title match. To build the respective matches, Orton gave Nakamura an RKO to end tonight’s show and Carmella teased cashing in her Money in the Bank briefcase.

Here’s a tag match to set up the #1 contender’s match.

And some trash talk from Natalya and Carmella.

When is Naomi getting her SmackDown Women's Title rematch?: SmackDown LIVE, Aug. 29, 2017

Opinion: The women’s match isn’t all that interesting but having a World Title match being ready upwards of a month in advance (assuming the title match takes place at “Hell in a Cell 2017” in October) is a nice change of pace. Let us know what we’re in for if we watch and let it feel more important. Why is that so complicated?
